The birth of the insanely great computer
(This is a reprint of the original post)
Revolution in the Valley tells "the insanely great story of how the Mac was made". It is written by one of the engineers of the small group that designed the Mac, and contains lots of funny short stories from the inception of the project to 1985, when the team disbanded after the Mac was launched. Some knowledge of the low-level technical details of hardware and software is required to understand some of the stories, while other ones can be enjoyed by all audiences.
I like to read about how some companies and teams work from the inside (and maybe extract some lessons!). In the last few weeks, I've read some fascinating articles about Google and Microsoft.
